Brian Sommer, Vital Analysis
As the founder and CEO of TechVentive, a company that helps technology firms better understand their markets, and Vital Analysis, the research and publishing arm of TechVentive, Brian Sommer knows the software industry and top executives at most major software firms know him, too. Brian's clients include some of the world's biggest technology firms as well as a wide assortment of business clients from small to large, private and public.
Previously, Brian was with Accenture for 18 years, where he was partner in charge of three global practice units, including the Finance and Performance Management Center of Excellence. His expert insights into finance processes and the software marketplace made him instrumental in many of the firm's large package software and shared services deals globally. After Accenture, he co-created a dot-com business that helped broker efficient services contracts between software buyers and systems integrators.
Mr. Sommer covers the SaaS marketplace for his blog on ZDNet, and has bylined or contributed to numerous national periodicals such as Optimize, Wall Street Journal Europe, Computerworld, Information Week, CIO, CFO, Business Finance, Computers & Finance and others.
Brian has presented software topics at many major universities, institutional investor conferences, and other forums. Jeffrey L. Williams of Vital Analysis has 20 years of experience partnering with Fortune 500 companies across a broad range of industries and geographies on large scale finance transformations in his prior role as partner in Accenture's Finance and Performance Management practice. His work has enabled business growth, increased profitability, scaled operations, reduced operating expenses, and/or contributed to better investment decisions.
Jeff has been covering the packaged software marketplace since 1992 and has in-depth knowledge of ERP vendors with emphasis on financial accounting, procurement, and performance management solutions and processes. He has been published on topics ranging from Transformational Outsourcing to the use of Offshore Analytics and has been a featured speaker at various software conferences and user group meetings.
